Overview of Our Project

“DO YOU KNOW HIBAKU-SHA?”

We want to spread this word to the world. And I want to give my children a peaceful earth without nuclear weapons or war.

In September 2021, “The Nagasaki Hibakusha Notebook Friendship Association” moved its base to the Hibakusha Community Center, which is close to the hypocenter, and has been working tirelessly to deliver the voices of atomic bomb survivors to as many people as possible.

However, A-bomb survivors' organizations and peace organizations are facing challenges such as an aging membership and a lack of funds for their activities, and are approaching the limit of their ability to continue the same activities as before.
We must continue our activities to convey the reality of the atomic bombing to the next generation.

What can we do to keep the flame of movement alive?

Therefore, we have started the Hibakusha Mirai Project, which aims to pass on this knowledge to the next generation who will carry the future.

The first project will be a documentary film production in which a total of 11 A-bomb survivors, second-generation, and third-generation A-bomb survivors travel to three American cities, interacting with American citizens, and documenting their experiences.

By asking the question "DO YOU KNOW HIBAKU-SHA?", we hope to directly convey the voices of atomic bomb survivors to the world and increase momentum for the abolition of nuclear weapons.

This support will be used to cover part of the cost of traveling to the United States, the cost of producing documentary footage, and the cost of social gatherings at the Hibakusha Community Center.
