【Give an unforgettable rafting adventure to the children
joining the 2015 Summer Camp!】

 

　

 

Hello! This is the Mirai no Mori project team.
　 1 month already passed since our project has started. Currently we have
the support of 33 people and 373,000 yen!

 

　A HUGE thank you to everyone who has kindly given their support!Thank you so much to all of you for your kindness.
　However, we now only have a month to go and the pace is getting pretty slow compared to the start.

Today, let me introduce a story of a boy who attended Mirai no Mori camp as his second time in 2014.

 

 

 

　　　　　　　

 

 

 

 

 

　The 2014 summer camp was Takashi's* second year to attend. Takashi is an 18 year old boy attending his local school for the disabled. He is reserved and causes no trouble at school or at our institution. However, he doesn't like to spend time playing with the other children here and so he spends much of his time alone.

 

　Takashi doesn't usually have much chance to spend time with his peers, so it was difficult to imagine him enjoying several days at camp with others his age. However, at his first camp lasr year, he seemed unfazzed mixing with his peers and appered to gain confidence in his ability to build relationships with others.

 

　This time, his second year, he seemed really lively and was talking and mixing happily with all kinds of people from the beggining of camp.I feel that by attending his second Mirai no Mori camp, Takashi was able to experience what it means to feel close connections between people. This was thanks to him attending camp consecutively and feeling that there are people waiting for him, cheering him on.

 

　Because those people were there for him, he wanted to rise to their expectations. This led to greater expectations for himself, along with a more positive mindset and increased confidence.

　On returning to  his daily life. he has tried more often to express his points of view and thoughts, and has gained more confidence in his dealings with other people. His motivation towards athletics, which he has been participating in since high school, has also become even stronger.

 

　I hope that he will keep the Mirai no Mori camp memories and experiences close to his heart and continue to value his encouters and connections with other people.
