Brilliant moment to hospitals

"Hoping the hospitals are the places to cure not only diseases physically but also heal their hearts!"

I had a intense hope, bring bright colors and warm atmosphere to hospitals in 1999 which is the year I became independent from working in museums of art.  It took almost 5 years to gain the understanding from the hospitals, and finally started 'Hospital Art Project' in 2003.

Visiting hospitals often made me realized there are huge lack for kids to choose things actively in their daily life.  Almost all the kids are live passively. The heavier symptom, the more passive.

Art surely has a power to release sufferings for a while and give some sparkles in their eyes!

There are over 200,000 kids who have incurable diseases in Japan.  I do believe that everyone should have rights to live with joy and luster even in the hospitals.

That would be amazing if art can bring the brilliant moment that makes them happy and smile!
