モンゴルで実施した遠隔教育授業の様子です（４）！

D:  A nomad boy helps the family with herding, and continues his studies at the same time

 

ケースＤ：遊牧民少年が家業の放牧を助けながら自分の勉強も怠らず学習を続けます

 

Ganaa is a 12 year old boy from a nomadic family and they have a ger near S soum in O Aimag.  They have  more than 1,000heads of sheep, and 50 (please check numbers and scale in an average herder’s family) Mongolian horses.  The family also employs 2 or 3 working hands in grazing season, after the birth of new sheep.  Ganaa also helps, together with his older brothers and cousins.  Because there is less good grass now than before, the family has been moving deeper and deeper into the steppe. 

 

ガナーは12歳で遊牧家庭で育ちました。通常はスーレン村のそばのゲルで暮らしています。一家は羊を約千頭、50頭のモンゴル馬を乗りこなして育てています。子羊が生まれゲルを離れて放牧する季節になると2-3人のアルバイトを雇います。ガナーも当然兄や従弟達と手伝います。最近は良い牧草地が減り年々草原の奥まで進まないと放牧が出来ません。

Ganaa and his brothers are registered at soum LLEC but have not been able to attend classes after the herding season started, and missed a lot of subjects.  Mrs. Suren at the LLEC told his family about the new pilot education using tablets.  His father agreed for Ganaa to participate in the pilot.

ガナーと兄弟、従弟たちは村の学習センターに登録していますが放牧が忙しくなって通学出来ず勉強が遅れてしまいました。センターのZ先生が新しい試みとしてタブレットを使ったオンライン授業が始まると教えに来てくれました。ガナーのお父さんが乗り気になりガナーも試験授業に参加しました。

 It was not difficult to use the tablet, as all members of Ganaa’s family are using mobile phone; it is how they organize life these days. Tablets are bigger than mobile phone but Ganaa is able to carry it safely in his pocket of deel, Mongolian traditional clothes commonly used by herders. Between the flaps and above the belt it creates a large pocket where many things can be kept.

.  Charging is done  at the ger where they have a generator.

 

ガナーの家族は皆携帯電話で日常の用事を済ませているので、タブレットに慣れるのもすぐでした。タブレットは携帯より大型ですが、モンゴルの遊牧民が着ているディールというたっぷりした服にはポケットがあり、タブレットが入れられます。合わせ目のベルトの上に大きな隠れた隙間があり、遊牧民は馬に乗る時も貴重品をそこに入れておきます。タブレットはゲルに備えられた発電機の電源で充電します。

There were many assignments and exercises to follow, but Ganaa managed to do all of

them, although not always on time.  The parents were keen for Ganaa to complete the program and reminded him.  He could not attend the Saturday live meetings because they were on the move.  But teachers often checked with Ganaa if he was having problems and to help him.  The experts explained that next time, nomadic children like him can pass by the soum centre to access hotspots, download the video so they can follow lessons. 

 

パイロット授業中は宿題や課題が沢山ありましたがガナーも遅れる事はあっても全部終える事ができました。ガナーのお父さんとお母さんはせっかく始めたオンライン授業なのできっちり終わりまで続ける様目を光らせています。毎週土曜日にはクラス全員がグーグルクラスでオンライン協議をします。ガナーも出たかったのですが放牧の時間と重なり何時もは出られませんでした。でも先生たちが毎週様子を聞きに電話か訪問してくれ補習をしてくれました。専門家の人たちによると、次回からは遊牧季節の間子どもたちは村のホットスポットに立ち寄って動画をダウンロードすれば遅れずに授業を続けられる、と言っています。

Ganaa’s family, and family of his uncles are discussing if they want to move to a city so other children can attend school.  Some older cousins are already in Ulaanbaatar and they work at an IT shop and a restaurant.  But if they move as the family they need to sell their animals and give up herding.  While the family is thinking about it, especially his mother wants to make sure Ganaa learns as much as possible.

 

ガナーの家族や親戚の間では近い将来都会に移住し、子供たちが皆正規の学校に通学できるようにしようと話し合っています。ガナーより年上の従弟達は既にウランバートルに引っ越し、ITショップとレストランで働いています。でも皆で引っ越すとなると羊や馬を売却し遊牧をあきらめないといけません。まだまだ話はまとまりませんが、それでもガナーの両親、特にお母さんはガナー達が義務教育をきちんと受ける事に熱心です。
