[R.I.P.] Seiji Ozawa

Seiji Ozawa, one of Japan's greatest conductors, passed away on February 6 at the age of 88.

On behalf of the Wiener Koala no Kai, we would like to express our deepest condolences for his soulful passing.

Yuji Yuasa also worked with Mr. Seiji Ozawa for a long time at various conducting seminars, including those of the Rohm Music Foundation. Before his death, Mr. Yuasa was a great admirer of Mr. Ozawa and said, "Mr. Ozawa is the only person who is truly skilled at the Saito-method conducting (how to control an orchestra).”

There is no doubt that many of the members of the Wiener Koala no Kai have been trained and significantly influenced by Mr. Ozawa. Once again, we would like to express our great appreciation to Mr. Seiji Ozawa for his distinguished achievement and greatest contribution to entire classical music industry.
