CNIC’s Co-Director Ban Hideyuki does a regular YouTube comment on ‘Nuclear News’ in Japan and this time we have done an English summary of his comments on 

- The Chugoku Electric Power Company’s recognition of the right of the Prefecture adjacent to the Shimane Nuclear Power Plant to demand a shutdown of the plant;

- Phasing out of medical assistance for victims of the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant;

- Transfer of soil from decontamination work in Fukushima to intermediate storage facilities almost complete (except for some which somehow got buried under new buildings);

- Two million tons of other decontamination waste, which the Ministry of Environment admits it has lost track of, has been recycled in riverbank construction work.
