One Day School was organized mainly by Cecilia, Asuka Watanabe, the founder of One Day School, with the goal of holding events where adults and children can spend time together around the world

We started One Day School in 2020, when new challenges such as behavioral restrictions and economic stagnation were difficult due to the spread of the coronavirus.

This is because we feel that it is becoming more and more important to create opportunities for adults and children around the world to experience together.

As the first project, we will open One Day School in Taiwan in May 2022.

"One Day School" concept brings special experiences to children around the world

One Day School founder, Cecilia from Taiwan.

Since my parents ran a Taiwanese restaurant, I grew up helping out at the restaurant since I was a child, and I think I have a life of my own now that I have come in contact with many adults of various occupations.

Even as an adult, I have been traveling around the world working at a Japanese trading company and interacting with many people, so I have a dream that I would like to create exciting cross-cultural experiences for children around the world.

With this in mind, in 2019 I participated in an event called "A Week of Taste ® *", sponsored by a group company where I work, as an expert in Taiwanese cuisine. I was involved in activities to convey the importance and enjoyment of food to Japanese elementary school students in the third to sixth grades through tasting and cooking experiences using the five senses.

I couldn't stop thinking about the children's interest in learning
something, and I started thinking about what I could do for them, which led to the idea of One Day School.

^*"A Week of Taste ®" is a "Dietary Education" event to introduce French
food culture to children born in France in 1990. It started in Japan in 2011.

Interacting with children at "Taste Week ®

After that, my visit to a village in Myanmar was that teiggered the launch of One Day School.

I had the opportunity to interact with the children of the village by taking pictures and showing them with my colleagues from England, India and South Africa.

Adults from all over the world were impressed by the attitude of local
children to learn, and we also received a lot of energy from the children's cute smiles.

One night during the trip, when I was taking a shower, I SUDDENLY HAD a
vision about the One Day School.

"I want to create a place where we can share the precious time of only one day in our life and share the excitement across generations and nationalities."

How wonderful it would be if we could share the knowledge and experience of various adults with children all over the world.

I met the chief of a Myanmar village, and when I enthusiastically told him about the dream of One Day School, he said, "I really want you to come and see the children in the village," so the project started in earnest.

The founder Cecilia Watanabe visited Myanmar in 2019.

The themes are "Food", "Music & Dancing", "Learning", and "Playing".

At One Day School, adults from all over the world, including Japan, gather in one place.

and share the world's cultures with children under the themes of "Food", "Music & Dancing", "Learning", and "Playing", and spend one day in their lives together.

We had originally planned to hold "The First One Day School" in May 2021 in the triggering village in Myanmar, but due to the effect of the spread of
COVID-19, we had decided to postpone it to November of the same year.

However, due to political turmoil in Myanmar in February 2021, we decided
not to hold The First One Day School in Myanmar.

Therefore, we thought of Taiwan, the birthplace of Cecilia, as a new host city. Partly due to the extensive local network in Cecilia that can provide us with tremendous support, we decided to hold the 1st One Day School in May 2022 in Yilan, Taiwan.

“Food”

Learning about food, how to cook, how to eat,through the five senses, you can experience the food culture of each country.

“Music & Dancing”

Through music and dance, to learn about cultural differences,
feel the underlying human instinct.

“Learning”

By learning and experiencing the language and manufacturing,
create an opportunity for one's future dream.

「遊」

By experiencing play, we find differences and commonalities, enjoy an intercultural sense of unity.

Most children learn from their parents or school, and I think they rarely learn about other cultures through interactions with adults overseas.

Therefore, as a theme that is easy for children to get used to, we aim to cultivate their sensitivity by experiencing together what is necessary to
live a rich life, such as "Food", "Music & Dancing", "Learning", and "Playing".

The finale ends with an awards ceremony and closing ceremony to honor all the children while dancing, singing and feeling a sense of togetherness around the campfire.

To children in Taiwan
I want you to enrich your life through different cultures.

In just one day's experience, children may feel the first time they come into contact with people and cultures from overseas, and may be able to start a new dream.

Adults may also come in contact with children with pure eyes to regain something they forgot, and to rethink the world and their lives.

We would like to make "One Day School" a precious day for both of us to get the chance.

The members of "One Day School" were formed by Cecilia Watanabe, who talked about the dream for the realization of the "One Day School" concept everywhere, and Nagareta (Leader of One Day School) who agreed with it drew up the vision and plan together, and Harigae (Secretary General) and Kaneoka (Operating Chief) joined in the management support.

As four people working in completely different industries gather together naturally, we value putting our thoughts into shape.

There are many people who want to help others.

In this crowdfunding campaign, we hope to make the activities of One Day School known to many people and expand the circle of activities while connecting each person's desire to make a contribution.

We are now preparing to deliver love to 500 children in Taiwan next May 1.

I hope that the smiles of children around the world will be the first step in returning gratitude to the world!

And I hope the circle of love and happiness spreads!

Ecole and Ritz Escoffier of Paris in New York, where her husband was
assigned. She was appointed as a Japan-France Goodwill Ambassador in 2002. In 2011, she was awarded the French Agricultural Service Award in
Chevalier.

When I heard about Cecilia's dream, One Day School, I really sympathized!!
I was born in this world 71 years ago, and there is a long road of 71 years. What I am thinking now is how I will spend the time left for me in the future and what path I will take.

As proof of my life, I hope to pass on all that I have cultivated to the next generation and leave it behind, and to play a role that connects the times.
What I want to tell you is to respect life, love and protect it.

In particular, I would like them to experience and feel something important in their interactions.

As part of these activities, I have spent valuable time with children, including classes on taste and animal welfare activities.

As an extension of my activities, the new activities of One Day School have been added, and the connection with the next generation has spread rapidly not only to Japan but also to children around the world.

It was really exciting, and I realized that I had never met such a wonderful person in my life.

I have been a culinary researcher for 40 years. I will be happy if I can spend the One Day School to make the next generation feel the joy of eating, happiness, the warm memories that people around the table spin, and the courage to live giving food, which will be the food for the next generation.

After serving as CEO of Shiseido Americas Headquarters, he served as Executive Officer of Shiseido Co., Ltd. (in charge of international business strategy and international marketing), Managing Executive Officer of Air Weave Holdings Co., Ltd. (in charge of marketing and the Americas),
Outside Director of HITOWA Holdings Co., Ltd., and Outside Director and Advisor of several other companies.

I got to know Cecilia through the job at the company I worked as an
adviser. Once we met, I had a momentary desire to work with her.

I have also worked overseas for many years, and I met people who seemed
to be 'With this guy!' in both business and volunteer activities. (The
same applies to domestic work.)

At first, we had a relationship through work, but as we talked, I felt
empathy for each other's interest in developing the next generation of
human resources, and that's our mission.

Recently, we see the word "Diversity" a lot in various situations, but I think it is very important for Japanese people, who have little relationship with foreign countries, to have that experience in their childhood, if possible.

Because of my father's job, my childhood in Seattle became a bridge to the world, and my children's experiences in New York, where they had a multi-faceted time in junior high and high school, are now connected. (But it was a very difficult time for my family.)

From now on, it will be important to make them think not only about "a foreign perspective that imitates Europe and America" but also about "the role of Japan in Asia" where they are located.

In addition, young people living in the modern age where the Internet has developed so much will not think that they know only from the information on the Internet, but the experience they see and hear will be a valuable asset.

Although I agree with Cecilia's "One Day School" for a long time, I have not been able to tell the next generation about "Food", "Music & Dancing", "Learning", and "Playing".

However, I think I can give a lot of advice to young people whothink about going abroad in the future.I want my children to ‘I want you to spread your wings beyond your father and mother.' Thank you in advance.

To connect a dream baton from an adult to a child

We believe that by creating a place where people can interact and connect with each other across national borders and ages, both adults and children will become aware of what is important, recognize and respect each other, and create a more peaceful world.

I would like to hold One Day School in Taiwan for the first time, and after that, I would like to hold One Day School in some country once a year. As the number of participants and supporters increases, branches of the One Day School are set up in various countries and regions around the world, and I imagine that this concept will spread all over the world.

Also, I would like to invite overseas children who participated in One Day School to Japan and hold One Day Camp, and also plan One Week Home Stay.

In this way, a dream baton is connected from an adult to a child. That's the vision of One Day School.

One Day School is a volunteer activity for children, and we hope that we will continue to work together with participants from around the world to create new values and create opportunities for children to expand their dreams for the future.
