We started this project after the Great East Japan earthquake, and to be honest until I actually set foot in the affected areas I questioned how useful these "DIY reconstruction assistance domes" actually were.

What I saw was that they truly made a huge difference, more than anything than I had imagined.
I felt that the domes are so much more than just warehouses - they have enabled people to reclaim their own space, start working again, rebuild their lives and move forward, one step at a time.

The tour includes helping build DIY reconstruction assistance domes with the people of Yamada city, a local tour, a visit to the hot springs and a Tohoku-style karaoke bar.
The tour will start from May 2013 until July 2013.
We can pick you up in Tokyo and drive up to Yamada city in Iwate.
