駐日トルコ大使館の方々が九州大学を訪問しました。

On December 13th, the Ambassador of Turkey in Tokyo, Mr. Korkut Güngen, First Secretary Ms. Esra Ozbek, Ms. Izumi Saito, and the Consul General in Nagoya Ms. Damla Gümüşkaya visited Kyushu University's Ito Campus. The ambitious schedule included a lecture by the ambassador in the morning, covering the history and current state of Turkey, as well as its relationship with Japan. This was followed by a campus tour and a respectful visit to the University President Ishibashi in the afternoon.

During the visit, an overview of our project was presented, and words of gratitude were expressed. Turkey, facing significant challenges such as earthquake damage and instability in surrounding regions like Syria, Ukraine, and Palestine, has managed to accept a large number of refugees while striving to maintain a stable society. At present, Kyushu University hosts the office of J-MENA, an organization that dispatches students between Japan and Middle Eastern countries, with a local office in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

We anticipate that the relationship between Kyushu University and Turkey will further develop, fostering mutual learning and contributing to the creation of a peaceful and prosperous era and society.
