こんにちは。プロジェクト共同実行者の齋藤純子です。
数多くのプロジェクトの中から、私たちのページを開き、新着情報までご覧いただき、本当にありがとうございます。
本プロジェクトのメイン実行者はLompoですが、私はクラウドファンディングのサポートを行なっています。具体的には本Readyforプロジェクトページの運営、和訳等を行なっています。

 

Hello. I'm Sumiko Saito, the project co-executor.
Thank you very much for opening our page and seeing this news from among many projects.

The main executor of this project is Lompo, and I support the crowdfunding, by managing this Readyfor project page and translate it into Japanese.

 

Lompoは私が学生時代からアフリカ展開をお手伝いしているプログラミングスクールに、ABEイニシアティブ（注）インターン生として来てくれていました。
私はインターン生のサポートとして彼と関わっていましたが、個人的に彼の夢と資金調達の必要について聞く機会があり、本件を手伝うことに決めました。

 

Lompo was an ABE Initiative intern* at a coding school that I have been helping expand into Africa since I was a student.
I usually worked to support his internship, but I had the opportunity to hear about his dreams and funding needs and decided to help him.

 

注 ABEイニシアティブ：日本の奨学金制度で、アフリカのエリート学生・社会人を日本の教育機関に受け入れ、日本企業でのインターンシップ機会まで提供する制度。
* ABE Initiative: A Japanese scholarship system that accepts elite African students and working adults into Japanese educational institutions and even provides internship opportunities at Japanese companies.

 

プロジェクトページに載せている内容は全て彼の文章で、私は飽くまでなるべく忠実に和訳することに徹しましたが、彼の文章からブルキナファソの現状を知り、私も衝撃を受けることがたくさんありました。

私自身、ITベンチャーのアフリカ展開に携わり、アフリカの発展した部分を多く目の当たりにし、スクールに来るアフリカインターン生も皆優秀なのを見ると、なんだかアフリカの状況も今時、日本とそんなに変わらないのではないかと徐々に錯覚を起こしていました。普段は笑顔で何気ない会話をしている彼らにも、悲惨な母国の状況があり、母国の社会課題を解決するという夢のために、強い使命感、覚悟を持って日本まで学びに来てくれたのだと思うと、彼らを見る目が変わるようでした。

 

He wrote all the contents of the project page, and I tried to translate them into Japanese as faithfully as possible, and I was shocked to learn about the current situation in Burkina Faso from his writings.

I have been involved in the expansion of an IT venture business into Africa, seeing many developed parts of Africa, and as I saw all the African interns at our school excellent, I was gradually getting an illusion that the situation in Africa now is not so different from Japan. Even the interns, who usually have casual conversations with smiles have a dire situation in their home country and came to Japan with a strong sense of mission and determination for the dream of solving social issues in their home country. When I learned that, I started seeing them differently from before.

 

 

私は中高一貫の女子校を卒業しています。歴史の長いクリスチャンの女子校で、イギリスの宣教師が、戦前に日本の女子教育の発展のために設立した学校でした。
遠い国日本の状況を見て課題を感じ、その解決のために行動したイギリス人がいて、それに協力する人がいて私の学校ができたのだと思うと、今その経緯が一部共感できるようになったような気がします。

 

I am a graduate of a Christian girls' school with a long history. It was founded by a British missionary before the war to develop Japanese girls' education.

I remembered the history of the establishment; an Englishman saw the situation in Japan, a distant country, found problems, and took action to solve them. Some people cooperated with him, and my school was established. Now I somehow feel that I can sympathize with them to some extent.

 

遠い国ブルキナファソの女子教育の現状を知り、衝撃を受け、この学校の再建に携わることができたら、母校に恩返しできるような気がしました。

今を生きる日本人として、日本の女子教育にそれほど深刻な課題は感じていませんが、
いつかブルキナファソの女の子たちが、日本人女性から見て、ブルキナファソのどこにそれほどの問題を感じたのか、分からないくらい平和な環境で学べるようになればと思います。
そして彼女たちの中から、大人になって遠い世界の誰かの課題を解決するために動く女性が生まれれたらと期待しています。

 

I was shocked to learn about the current state of girls' education in Burkina Faso, a distant country, and I felt that if I could be involved in the reestablishment of this school, I would be able to give back to my old school.

As a Japanese living today, I do not find any serious problems in Japanese girls' education, and I hope that one day Burkina Faso girls will be able to learn in a peaceful environment where they wonder why a Japanese woman found such a serious problem in Burkina Faso.
And I hope that some of them will grow up to be women who work to solve the problems of someone in the distant world.

 

不思議なご縁で繋がったブルキナファソの女の子たちの夢が、皆さんのことも励ましますように。

私としても、コロナ禍で自宅で過ごす時間が増えたからこそお手伝いできたプロジェクトだとも思います。
オンライン会議が日常的になった今、彼女たちを皆さんと繋ぐことも簡単です。
難しいご時世だからこそできることに希望を持ち、前向きに取り組んでまいります。

今後とも活動を見守っていただければ幸いです。

 

May the dreams of Burkina Faso girls, whom I had a fateful　encounter with, encourage you too.

I think I can work on this project partly because I have more time to spend at home under the Corona situation.
Now that online meetings are normal, it is easy to connect the girls with you.
I will work positively with hope for what we can do in difficult times.
