年が明けて葺き替えの準備が始まりました。
2月10日からの屋根の葺き替えに向けて、新年最初に行った準備作業は
・今年刈る茅を格納する場所を作ること
・葺き替える北面の屋根に茅などを置く足場を作ること
3年間蓄えてきた茅は、3箇所の倉庫と屋根裏いっぱいに集積されていて、今年の分を入れる余裕が無かったので、1月から旧花野邸の施設利用は停止させてもらい、部屋の中に茅を入れることとしました。
今回葺き替える北面の屋根側は、山があります。
そちらに丸太を掛けて番線で止めて、屋根に上がって作業する時のための材料置き場にします。
簡単に流したけど、この丸太も地元で切り出したものだし、何本もの重たい丸太を運んで足下悪い中で作業するのは70オーバーのおじいちゃんがメインという、過疎高齢化の町あるある。これらの作業一つ一つが、私たちにとって本当に大事な経験で、この機会に立ち会えることに感謝の気持ちがいっぱいです。
