Love our earth more.
With the crayon confines by the color of the sea from all over the world.
Let's take a step ahead to learn and to protect our earth.

"What is the color of the sea?"
When one asks, most people probably think of blue.

 

However, there are subtle differences in "blue", and there are various "blue" around us.

 

Bright blue, dark and deep blue, pale and refreshing blue ... Similarly, the "blue" of the sea is different from the colors that you generally think of, where these blue colors are coming from many beautiful, unnamed seas exist on our earth.

 

Depending on where it is, there maybe red and there maybe yellow.

 

There is no sea on the moon or Mars.
There is not even any color exists.
 

 

When the light shining down from the sun to the surface of our earth, part of it is absorbed and part of it bounces off and reaches our eyes.

 

And that is "color"!

 

Unlike Mars and the Moon, our Earth has different beautiful colors because of its rich and diverse nature.

 

The "color" created by nature and light is the treasure of the earth.

 

At SKY Perfect JSAT, we learned about these beautiful colors through the space business and it inspires us to protect these colors.

 

To protect the treasure of our earth, it is first and foremost important that all of us want to cherish, to become more interested in, love our earth and taking a step further to protect the “colors”.

 

"Why?"          This is the beginning when one shows interest 
"Tell me more"    This is the beginning of liking.
"I like it"         This is the beginning when one feels he or she needs to take action to protect.

 

The colors of this crayon are extracted from the imageries captured by the world largest low earth orbit satellite constellation called “Dove” (operated by Planet Labs). The colors are exactly what there are seen from space, and there are faithfully reproduced and confined into crayon by the hands of a group of skillful crayon craftsman.

 

 

With the aim to reserve the beautiful colors on our earth, and to let more and more people aware of the important to keep and cherish the gift given to us by our earth, we have raised this "Crayon of the Sea" project via the crowdfunding channel operated by READYFOR (https://readyfor.jp)

Having to pursue this initiative via the crowdfunding campaign, it doesn’t only allow us to delivery our ambitions to save the earth from the various challenges of climate change, but also with the wishes that everyone who supports us in the project would jointly work to protect our earth and deliver a brighter future for our children.

 

You can access to website to view the 12 satellite imageries representing each basic color of the crayon set via QR code on the crayon packaging. There are also introduction of various environmental issues relating to the color that tell you the reason why the Great Barrier Reef turns white, and why the Ukraine's Sivash is red. The challenges facing by Greenland and Kiribas due to global warming and many more stories about the mystery of our earth.

 

There is no name given to the colors of the satellite crayon, but there is a reason for each of them.

 

We hope that this crayon offers you a moment to think about what is happening to our earth and make yourself to like it more.
