グロービス経営大学院アフリカ部でお話ししました

グロービス経営大学院の公認クラブであり、アフリカ等のテーマを中心とした情報交換の場となっているアフリカ部でお話しする機会を頂きました。
アフリカ部創設者であり代表幹事の北住さんがLompoと私の活動をご覧になり、2021年最初の勉強会のテーマとしてブルキナファソの社会課題を取り上げてくださいました。

 

We had the opportunity to speak at the Africa Club, which is an official club of the Graduate School of Management, GLOBIS University, and a place to exchange information on themes such as Africa.
Mr. Kitazumi, the founder and chairperson of the Africa Club, saw the activities of Lompo and myself and chose the social issues in Burkina Faso as the theme for the first study session in 2021.

 

 

勉強会はオンラインで夜行われ、既にブルキナファソに帰国しているLompoが現地時間で朝から参加しました。
グロービスからのご参加者の皆様もアメリカ在住、シンガポール在住など様々な方がいらっしゃり、あらゆる国の時間から繋がって一緒にディスカッションができました。

 

The study session was held online in the evening, and Lompo, who had already returned to Burkina Faso, joined the session in the morning local time.
Participants from GLOBIS, some of whom live in the U.S and others in Singapore, joined from different places in the world and discussed together.

プレゼンテーションでは、ブルキナファソの社会課題として、隣国の武装集団による襲撃といった治安の問題や、女の子のチャンスを奪う児童婚についてお話ししました。
更には、日本でも女子教育が軽視されていた時代についてお話しし、それぞれの小学校就学率や貧しい家庭の女の子の境遇について比較すると、現在のブルキナファソは、アフリカに未だ残る明治時代の日本とも思えるとお伝えしました。

 

In the presentation, I talked about the social issues in Burkina Faso, such as security problems like attacks by armed groups in neighboring countries, and child marriage that deprives girls of opportunities.
I also talked about the time when girls' education was neglected in Japan. Comparing the elementary school enrollment rate in each country and the situation of girls from poor families, I said that Burkina Faso today is like Japan in the Meiji era, which remains in Africa.

 

 

質疑応答の時間には、ブルキナファソの隣国ベナンで初等教育の問題に取り組まれていた経験を持つ方が、途上国の持続可能な教育を行う上で必要な資金についてのご自身の知識や経験を踏まえ、Lompoのクラウドファンディング後の長期計画について質問をくださいました。
Lompoは今後、現地でスモールビジネスを立ち上げ、子供の教育費を出せない家庭に向けて雇用機会を作ることも考えているという説明をしました。
現地の学費はそんなに高くないため、親が少し働くチャンスがあれば賄えるはずであり、また雇用機会を女の子たちの職業訓練にも繋げることで、女の子たちの活躍の場を拡げることができるとのことです。

 

During the Q&A session, a person who had worked on the issue of primary education in Benin, a neighboring country of Burkina Faso, asked about Lompo's long-term plans after the crowdfunding, based on his knowledge and experience about the funds needed for sustainable education in developing countries.
Lompo explained that he is planning to start a small business to create employment opportunities for families who cannot afford to pay for their children's education.
The local school fees are not very high, so if the parents have a chance to work a little, they should be able to pay for it, and by giving employment opportunities to the girls as job training, they will be able to expand their opportunities too.

 

最後には交流の時間も取り、Lompoからブルキナファソ人の素晴らしいホスピタリティ、国内の広大な自然や世界遺産など、観光地としての魅力も沢山教えてもらい、楽しく過ごすことができました。

 

In the end, we had time for socializing, and Lompo taught us about the wonderful hospitality of burkinabè and the many attractions of the country as a tourist destination, including its vast nature and world heritage sites, and we had a great time.

 

アフリカ部の皆さん、貴重な機会を本当にありがとうございました。スピーカーとしても大変刺激的で楽しかったです。
皆さんと一緒にブルキナファソのより良い教育を作り上げていきたいと思います。
