After being sentenced to a life expectancy, I decided to establish an institute to continuously support patients with intractable diseases and their families.
"We want to be a catalyst for hope in the face of harsh reality."

 

In the summer of 2021, I was suddenly diagnosed with ALS and told that I would only have 3-4 years to live unless I was to put on an artificial respirator.
“What was I born for?”
I asked myself this question after being diagnosed, and my answer was, I would like to offer my hand to those who are in the depths of despair as I am, to give them a chance to have hope.
We may not be able to solve the harsh reality, but we can overcome it. That is what I want to convey.
This is my mission, which I have been able to realize only because of my intractable disease.
My time is limited.
Sooner or later, I will not be able to move my body or speak.
And it is this summer that,in order to continuously support patients and their families suffering from intractable diseases and other disabilities, we will establish an institute.

*What is ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)?
ALS is a disease in which the muscles of the limbs, throat, and tongue, as well as those necessary for breathing, gradually lose weight and strength. On the other hand, it is normal for the patient to retain all physical senses, vision, hearing, and organ functions. At present, no cure has been found.

●First target: 3 million yen for Website construction costs
We expect to release the website by the end of October 2022. Funds in excess of the first target will be utilized as the second and third targets as follows:
●Second target: 5 million yen for securing office space and holding symposiums and other events
●Third goal: 10 million yen for hiring full-time staff and preparing for the development of a nursing care equipment leasing business
