Thank you very much for your kind support for the construction of the mother-and-kitten shelter at the Nairobi Feline Sanctuary.
From last week through this week, the roof and the exterior iron sheets have been successfully completed. Currently, work is underway to install insulation inside the walls, followed by plastic paneling — a clear sign that the shelter’s completion is drawing near.
Earlier this month, we had some rainfall, and there were concerns that Kenya’s short rainy season might begin. Fortunately, the weather has since remained favorable, allowing construction to progress smoothly.
Although there is no strictly fixed construction schedule as in Japan, the work is steadily advancing, and we expect the shelter to be completed soon. It looks very likely that the mother cats and their kittens will be able to move into their new home safely before the rainy season begins.
Thank you once again for your continued support. — Hiroko Sugimoto
