Day26　大企業に就職＝幸せ　は本当？

海外に出たとき、多くの日本人がぶつかる壁があります。

 

「自分の意見を聞かれても、上手く伝えられない。そもそも、自分のことがよく分かっていない。」

 

私自身もこの壁にぶつかり、
「自分のことを、全然わかっていなかった。」
と気づかされました。

 

海外経験のある日本人と話すと、この壁にぶつかる人が本当に多い。そこから、
その背景には日本の教育のあり方が深く関わっていることに気づきました。

 

前回の記事でお伝えした通り、日本の教育では
先生が一方的に知識を「教え」、子どもたちはそれを「受け取る」ことが基本です。
今日は、この学習スタイルが生み出す潜在的な問題についてお伝えします。

 

 

 

「良い企業に就職する＝幸せ」って本当？

 

与えられた知識をテストのために暗記する。

それは何のため？ → テストで良い点を取るため。

それはなぜ？ → 受験で内申点を上げるため。

それはなぜ？ → 良い高校、良い大学に入るため。

それはなぜ？ → 良い企業に就職するため。

それはなぜ？ → 安定した収入を得るため。

それはなぜ？ → 安定した生活を手に入れると幸せになれるから。

 

・・・それは本当ですか？

 

「良い企業に就職する＝幸せ」

 

ここを疑ってみてほしいのです。

 

 

データによると、日本の新卒就職者の約3割が、就職後3年以内に離職しています。
具体的には、2021年3月卒業者の大学卒業者の離職率は34.9%に上昇し、16年ぶりの高水準となりました。

 

このデータからも分かるように、「良い企業に就職すれば、幸せになれる」保証があるわけではないのです。

むしろ、「自分に合った職業選択」ができなかった結果、早期離職につながっているのではないでしょうか？

 

良い企業というブランドを手に入れても、本当に自分がやりたいことと違えば、結局また『会社に与えられたことをこなす』という構図に陥ってしまいます。

 

 

💗本当に大切なのは「自分の軸」を持つこと

 

ここで誤解してほしくないのは、「離職することが悪い」と言いたいのではありません。
大切なのは、子どもたちが早い段階から「自分の意見」を持ち、
自分の興味に基づいて主体的に学ぶ経験を積むことです。

 

もし、そうした環境があれば
「思っていたのと違った」
「自分には価値がない」
と自分を責めたり、社会や人のせいにするのではなく、
「じゃあ次はどうする？」と自分軸で考え、行動できる大人に育つのではないでしょうか？

 

「自分らしさ」や個性を大切にできる環境は、今後の社会において必要不可欠なものです。

 

 

このプロジェクトは、子どもたちが自分らしく生きられる社会をつくるための第一歩です！

 

子どもたちが様々な経験や人との関りを通して自分らしく幸せに生きていくための活動に繋げるためのプロジェクトです！

There is a common challenge that many Japanese people face when they go abroad:

 

"When asked for my opinion, I struggle to express it. Actually, I don’t even know myself that well."

 

I personally experienced this struggle, and it made me realize:

"I didn’t really understand myself at all."

 

After talking with many Japanese people who have lived overseas, I found that this feeling is incredibly common. It made me realize that this issue is deeply connected to Japan’s education system.

 

As I mentioned in my previous post, Japanese education is primarily structured around a one-way flow of knowledge:

Teachers "teach", and students "receive".

Today, I want to explore the deeper issues that this learning style creates.

 

 

Does Getting a Good Job = Happiness?

 

Students memorize information for tests.

 

Why? → To get good grades.

Why? → To improve their academic records for university entrance exams.

Why? → To get into a good high school and university.

Why? → To secure a job at a reputable company.

Why? → To have a stable income.

Why? → Because a stable life = happiness.

 

…But is that really true?

 

Many people assume that "getting a job at a prestigious company equals happiness."

I want to challenge this assumption.

 

 

What the Data Tells Us

 

Statistics show that more than 30% of Japanese university graduates leave their first job within three years.

 

In fact, the turnover rate for 2021 graduates reached 34.9%, the highest in 16 years.

 

These numbers suggest that simply landing a "good job" does not guarantee long-term happiness or fulfillment.

 

Instead, the high turnover rates indicate that many people struggle to find jobs that truly align with their interests and values.

 

Even if someone secures a job at a well-known company, if it’s not aligned with their true passions, they often fall into the same pattern:
"Just doing what the company tells them to do."

 

 

💗The Key Is Having a Strong Personal Foundation

 

I’m not saying that quitting a job is a bad thing.

 

What truly matters is that children develop their own opinions and actively engage in learning based on their interests from an early stage.

 

If they grow up in an environment that nurtures this, they won’t feel trapped by thoughts like:

"This isn’t what I expected."

"Maybe I have no value."

 

Instead, they’ll develop a mindset of:

"Okay, so what’s next?"

 

This ability to think independently and take action is what will truly empower them in life.

A society that respects individuality and personal growth is not just ideal—it’s essential for the future.

 

 

This Project Is the First Step Toward That Future
