特別展示会まであと４日！

本日からカウントダウンを兼ねて、展示会に関わってくださっているアーティストの方を順次紹介していきたいと思います！

まず一人目は、明子Martinache（マルティナシュ）さんです（English below)。

イラストレーター、東京出身。2004年にハワイ大学ヒロ校にて言語学の学士号取得後、国際的に著名な画家Andrea Razzauti（ アンドレア　ラザウティ：（http://andrearazzauti.com/）に師事する。
現在フランスのニースでフリーランスの芸術家として創作活動を続けている。アートを通して平和と友好を築くという今回の企画に携わることをきっかけに、明子は土方久功とパラオについて調べ始めた。国立民族学博物館がウェブ上で提供している土方久功の日記を読む中で、その詩的な文章や彼の人生の表現にインスピレーションを得た。特に、美術大学時代に父を亡くした後パラオ行きを決意し、パラオの文化とアートに貢献していく土方氏の人生に感銘を受けた。
さらに、1991年に世田谷美術館で開催された展示「土方久功展―南太平洋の光と夢」のカタログを読み進める中、作品「Le Murmure du Lézard Bleu:あおとかげのささやきの
イメージを固めていった。作品では、土方久功の人生やパラオを含むミクロネシアの島々における彼の生活について調べる中で得たインスピレーションを表現しようとしている。

Martinache was born and brought up in Tokyo, Japan. She received her B.A. degree in linguistics from the University of Hawaii in Hilo, in 2004. Akiko later apprenticed under the tutelage of internationally renowned artist Andrea Razzauti( http://andrearazzauti.com/). Akiko now lives in Nice, France where she is married and works as a a freelance artist.
Akiko first started researching the life of Hisakatsu Hijikata and Palau when she agreed to be a part of the project to explore peace and friendship through art. While she was reading the original diaries of Hijikata Hisakatsu, online, through the Museum of Ethnology, in Osaka, Akiko was inspired by Hijikata’s poetic way of writing and expression of his life. She was especially impressed with the parts at the time after the death of his father, while studying art, and becoming interested in going to Palau and dedicating his life to art and research. While further reading about Hijikata in a catalog from the Setagaya Art Museum of the 1991 exhibition, “The Hisakatsu Hijikata Exhibition-Light and Dream of Micronesia”,
Akiko began to form an image for an artwork titled “Le Murmure du Lézard Bleu” or “The Whisper of the Blue Lizard”. Through this painting, Akiko wishes to express the inspiration she received while researching the life of Hisakatsu Hijikata and his life in Palau and other islands of Micronesia.
